4 Tips for Eating Bread and Rolls
1) When eating a roll or a slice of bread, tear off a “bite size” piece, butter it, and lay the knife across the top of your bread plate (always with the serrated edge toward you) and then enjoy. Be sure to swallow the first piece before picking up your knife again. DO NOT butter a slice of bread or roll then fold it like a sandwich.
2)Crumbs: DO NOT brush crumbs to one side, just leave them where they lie.
3)Mopping Up: DO NOT take a piece of bread to sop up that last bit of gravy, sauce, or food.
4)The Last Roll: Never take the last roll even if it is offered to you by the host/hostess. Wait until your server comes by, and then ask for more.
